CONTEXT
ChildFund Rugby partners to provide children and young people with opportunities to play, learn, and lead.
Through integrated rugby and life skills learning, young people from vulnerable communities develop critical social and emotional skills which help them achieve personal goals, build empathy, manage emotions, develop positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. This makes them better equipped to overcome challenges, inspire positive social change, and take active leadership roles within their communities.
All partnerships contribute to building an equitable and inclusive future, where children are safe from violence — reflecting targets within the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
ChildFund Rugby partners to deliver high quality, evidence-based impact and has been appointed as a Social Impact Partner for 4 Rugby World Cups to further leverage the sport to deliver social impact.
The ChildFund Rugby Team also works with sports partners around the globe to ensure that the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in sport is a priority.
ChildFund Rugby is led by ChildFund Australia, an independent international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in developing communities and a member of the ChildFund Alliance – a global network of 12 organisations which assists almost 23 million children and their families in 70 countries.
KEY DUTIES
As the Partnerships Coordinator — Philippines, you lead ChildFund Rugby operations in Philippines and will: i) hold operational and reporting leadership for all projects; (ii) build a strong, supportive and productive environment for partnerships that extend to partner staff and Coaches; (iii) ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government, donors and ChildFund officers/departments; and (iv) ensure quality across all work streams.
Partnership
– Build strong and effective partnerships with the National Governing Body (Philippines Rugby Football Union) and other national partners;
– Manage partnerships in-line with ChildFund commitments and ensure appropriate evidence is captured to demonstrate commitments in action;
– Support institutional strengthening activities with national partners;
– Support partners to implement strong projects including project management and measuring change, in-line with approved projects and organisational protocols and requirements;
– Support partners to maintain day to day activity and budget oversight.
Project Leadership
– Ensure project management platforms are up to date;
– Provide representational and focal point services for all ChildFund Rugby activities at the national and sub-national levels;
– Ensure project reporting and donor management requirements are met.
Stakeholder Management
– Maintain strong and productive relationships with stakeholders including key ChildFund staff, Government, and the National Olympic Committee (where needed);
– Maintain frequent, high-quality and transparent communications with the ChildFund Rugby team.
Program Quality
– Support improvements in disability inclusive practice;
– Ensure relevant protocols are adhered to across all activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
– University education in education, sport management, international development or a relevant field;
– Experience working with partners, with sports partners an advantage;
– Experience of working with children and young people;
– Community development experience, with Sport for Development experience an advantage;
– Mentoring and coaching experience;
– Representation experience, including public speaking;
– Experience working in a complex partnership environment with multiple competing priorities;
– Successful team building and leadership experience;
– Fluency in English and relevant national language/s;
– A commitment to creating an environment that enables national partners to grow and achieve their full potential.
You are expected to remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding and Sexual Exploitation, Abuse or Harassment (SEAH) risks and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Child Safeguarding and Prevention of SEAH Policies.
